The Bible
The Bible is God's Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it was inspired by God, the Bible is the supreme source of truth without any mixture of error, and is completely relevant to our daily lives.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 2 Peter 1:19-21 Psalm 119:105,160
God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
Genesis 1:1 Psalm 90:2 Matthew 28:19 2 Corinthians 13:14
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is completely human but, at the same time completely God. Jesus lived a perfect life and offered Himself as the substitution for all people by dying on a cross. He defeated death in His resurrection and ascended to Heaven's glory to return again someday to Earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.
Matthew 1:18-23 John 1:1-5, 14; 10:30 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 Acts 1:9-11 Titus 2:13
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He convicts people of their sin and need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every believer from the moment of salvation and gives them a spiritual gift. He provides the believer with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.
John 14:16-17, 26 Ephesians 1:13-14 Romans 8:14,16
Man
All people are made in the image of God are the supreme object of His creation. People were created to have fellowship with God but became separated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people cannot attain a relationship with God through their own effort. Every personality is uniquely created, possesses dignity, and is worthy of respect and Christian love.
Genesis 1:27 Psalm 8:3-6 Romans 3:23 Ephesians 2
Salvation
The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift from God, it cannot be earned through our own efforts, and is maintained by the grace and power of God.
Romans 6:23 Ephesians 2:8-9 John 1:12, 14:6 Titus 3:5 John 10:29
Eternity
People were created to exist forever. We will exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
John 3:16 Romans 6:23 John 14:3 Revelation 20:15
